Police make drink and drug driving arrests – including man whose van was found in ditch

Police have made a number of drink and drug driving arrests in North Wales over the weekend. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

Arrests were made on the A55 at Ewloe Green, as well as two in Bangor and one in Wrexham. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

Some of those have been charged and will have to explain their actions to the court. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

North Wales Police said others will have an anxious wait for further test results. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

One of those arrested was a 30-year-old man from Pontefract who has been charged with drink driving after being arrested on the A55 at Ewloe Green following a call from a member of the public. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

His van was found in a ditch shortly before midnight on Saturday 11th March. He is due to appear before Mold Magistrates on April 13th. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

North Wales Police’s roads policing unit said: “Information from you is crucial in helping us, therefore, if you know someone who drives whilst under the influence of drink or drugs, please do the right thing and report them by calling us on 101. ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​

“Dial 999 if they are posing an imminent danger, or alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You can also contact us via our website.” ‌​‌‌​​​‌‍‌​‌​‌​​​
