Police are appealing for information after burglars stole a “substantial” sum of cash from a petrol station in Gwynedd.

Two suspects are reported to have used force to gain entry to the side door of the Beran Garage near Deiniolen at approximately 11pm on Tuesday.

The pair then used a hammer to prise open the tills before making off with a significant amount of money.

Officers from North Wales Police said: “We are anxious to hear from anyone who may have been travelling in the area between the hours of 9pm and 11.30pm, who may have witnessed two men walking along the road, or noticed a vehicle parked somewhere on the A4244 between Ty Mawr Team Rooms and Beran Garage.

“We would also encourage anyone with dashcam footage to contact us quoting ref Z050505.”
