Officers who are investigating a serious collision, which happened on the A494 on the outskirts of Ruthin yesterday, have thanked members of the public who stopped to assist at the scene.
Shortly before 2pm police received a report of a road traffic collision in Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd involving a white coloured Renault Captur and a black coloured BMW M140 near to the entrance of the Clwyd Gate Hotel.
Three occupants from the Renault – a man, woman and a baby, were all airlifted to hospital in Stoke.
The man and the woman have both sustained serious injuries. Thankfully the baby was left uninjured.
PC Einion Huws of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We’d like to express our sincere thanks to members of the public who assisted at the scene yesterday, which included three off-duty nurses and an off-duty police officer.
“A resident living nearby also assisted by loaning the use of a car seat for the baby, and also provided some refreshments to the emergency services at the scene.
“I’d like to say a huge thanks to them all for their assistance and also thank motorists for their patience whilst the road was closed and the collision was dealt with.”
“We are appealing for witnesses; and anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have been travelling along the A494 near to the scene and who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact us immediately.”
