Police are appealing for information after a peregrine falcon was found dying following a suspected shooting.

Officers said the bird of prey was discovered at about mid-day on Tuesday near the osprey centre in Porthmadog.

A later examination by RSPCA vets revealed it had probably been shot.

Members of the North Wales Police Rural Crime Team said: “This is a serious wildlife crime and we encourage any one with information to come forward.

“If you have any information that might help us catch the offender then please let us know.Cyf / Ref: 21000222577.”
