Overturned HGV blocks A55 in Holyhead

Final update 6.25pm: The overturned lorry has now been safely removed from the carriageway and the road has reopened.

Update 10.55am: Traffic Wales has said the road will remain closed for the next few hours to allow the recovery of  the vehicle.

A main road is blocked this morning in Holyhead.

A HGV is currently on its side just off the Kingsland Roundabout which is the first junction of the A55.

The westbound carriageway is currently closed due to the incident.

Emergency services on scene.

Traffic Wales published the above image from their traffic cams, adding “Please avoid area if possible.”
