More than 1,000 staff at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor receive Covid-19 vaccine
More than 1,000 NHS workers at a North Wales hospital have now received the Covid-19 vaccine, the region’s health board has confirmed.
Betsi Cadwaladr said the staff members at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor were all immunised this week after a vaccination centre was opened at the hospital.
It follows centres at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and Wrexham Maelor Hospital beginning to vaccinate before Christmas
New figures published yesterday show that Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) has administered more than 10,500 vaccine jabs so far, the highest number of any health board in Wales.

The data, which was circulated to officials and politicians, shows the health board vaccinated 2,234 people on Thursday and 2,448 on Wednesday.
Public Health Wales published its weekly vaccination update the day before, which showed that just 5,884 had received the jab in North Wales up to the week ending January 3.
It prompted criticism over the speed of the roll-out of the vaccine in the region, as the Welsh Conservatives claimed that a âpostcode lotteryâ was starting to emerge.
However, claims of vaccine disparity were rejected by Health Minister Vaughan Gething, who said that all parts of Wales will receive their fair share of the coronavirus vaccines.
The new BCUHB data shows that 10,568 vaccinations have been administered in North Wales.
