A man has been jailed for attacking two emergency workers at Ysbyty Gwynedd whilst under the influence of alcohol.

Colin Piper of Church Street, Blaenau Ffestiniog has today been jailed for 12 weeks for threatening and abusive behaviour, criminal damage and the assaults which were carried out at the Bangor hospital yesterday.

Bangor district Inspector Chris Hargrave said: “An incident of alcohol fuelled violence is unacceptable under any circumstances, however our hard working and dedicated NHS colleagues certainly should not have to bear the brunt of such anti-social behaviour.

“We will not tolerate incidents such as this, and will continue to put anyone who assaults emergency workers before the court to face justice.”
