A man has been charged following an attack on a vulnerable adult at a flat complex in Bangor.

The 35-year-old local man, David Brian John was remanded in custody yesterday afternoon to appear at Mold Magistrates Court.

It followed an incident at a building on the Maesgeirchen Estate on Wednesday.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the alleged attacker has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

The victim was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd following the assault and is fortunately making a recovery.

Detective Inspector Andy Gibson said: “I want to reassure our community, that whilst incidents like this are rare, North Wales Police remain committed to continue to investigate such serious offences. North Wales remains one of the safest parts of the United Kingdom.”
