Man arrested in connection with ‘fatal assault’ in St Asaph released on bail

A man who was arrested in connection with an alleged fatal assault in St Asaph has been released on police bail.

The 57-year-old man was taken into custody following an incident outside an address in Llys Clwyd last Wednesday.

A 58-year-old man was taken to hospital after the incident, but later died.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the alleged assault.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Naughton said: “Our sympathies remain with the man’s family, who are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

“We continue to appeal to anybody who may have been in the vicinity of Llys Clwyd shortly before 5pm on Wednesday afternoon to contact us.”
