Man arrested for drug driving after BMW was ‘driven dangerously’ on A55

North Wales news and information

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a BMW was seen being driven dangerously on the A55. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

Police stopped the car on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 near St Asaph at around 10am this morning. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

It came after a member of the public called 999 to raise concerns about how the vehicle was being driven. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

In a post on Facebook, officers from North Wales Police’s roads policing unit said: “The driver was positive for cannabis at the roadside so was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken to custody. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“The 40-year-old man from Warrington has since been released under investigation and now has to await the results of further tests.” ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌
