Police appeal for witnesses after man seriously injured as driver fails to stop

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured following a fail to stop collision in Acton, Wrexham yesterday afternoon.

Shortly before 2pm police received a call from the ambulance service that a light blue/silver BMW car had collided with a pedestrian on Oak Drive and that the car had left the scene.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital where he remains with serious leg injuries.

Police traced the car a short time later and a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion Section 18 wounding, failing to stop after a collision, dangerous driving and drug driving. He has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the BMW being driven along Oak Drive either before or after the incident to contact them.
