A drunk lorry driver was arrested after being spotted “weaving” all over the road on the A55 near Rhuallt Hill.

Police received reports from members of the public yesterday afternoon following concerns over how the vehicle was being driven after it was also seen in Mochdre near Colwyn Bay.

Two officers went to search for the HGV and the driver was stopped near the Britannia Bridge.

He failed a roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to custody where he provided a further positive test.

The 48-year-old man was remanded to appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court today after being charged with drink driving.

Police have thanked the people who reported the way the vehicle was being driven and said they would provide a further update once the outcome of the case is known.
