An appeal has been made to parents after a group of youths are understood to have cause major damage to a school on Anglesey.

Police in Llangefni are investigating criminal damage to the Ysgol Talwrn building after it was targeted yesterday evening.

Officers said a shed at the back of a property was initially broken into at around 6pm where a number of items were stolen.

They were then used to trash the school with soft drinks and electrical products also being taken during the rampage.

Police believe a gang of youths aged 13 to 14 are responsible for the damage after being seen nearby.

Acting District Inspector Ian Roberts said: “This is simply, mindless damage and the actions of those responsible is just shameless. Why? springs to mind.

“Items recovered will be sent for forensic analysis and further enquires are on-going.

“We are keen to speak to the group of young people that were nearby. This is also a timely reminder that the COVID restrictions still apply.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Wales Police quoting reference number 20000306964.
