Officers are appealing for witnesses following a near-miss collision with a pedestrian in Menai Bridge yesterday.

Shortly after 11am police were informed of a one-vehicle collision involving a black Vauxhall Corsa on Pentraeth Road just outside the grounds of Ysgol David Hughes.

The Corsa, which had been travelling from the direction of the Four Crosses roundabout, collided with a wall, narrowly missing the male pedestrian.

PC Daniel Edwards of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The pedestrian, although shocked, was uninjured however was extremely lucky. This could easily have been a serious if not fatal collision.

“The driver is now under investigation and I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the Corsa being driven prior to the collision to contact us. The Corsa had three males on board and anybody who may have dash cam footage is urged to contact us immediately.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact PC 2766 Daniel Edwards on 101 or via the live web chat quoting incident number Y141315.
