Homes in Llangefni approved
Proposals for six new homes in Anglesey’s county town have been approved by council planners.
The plans for three pairs of semi-detached houses on land at Ponc y Fron, Llangefni was given the green light by officers without the need to go in front of the authority’s Planning Committee.
The proposals, on what is currently empty land, are described by the applicants as “reasonably priced housing” to be developed by a “well-known local builder with a track record of providing high quality sensible properties, providing in the end a high quality finished development.”
The supporting documents accompanying the application submitted by Mr Nigel Ingram, go on to note: “Located just outside the town centre, the site is a rectangular piece of land lying to the rear of the property known as Bryn Glas.
“It is clearly deemed suitable for residential development having
previously been granted permission and it also lies within the development
boundary.
“The whole site is well enclosed, lies in the middle of a popular housing
estate within the Town and represents and ideal opportunity to meet
housing targets on a site ideally suited in a physical context for this type of
development.
“To conclude, the proposal would make use of an area of under-utilised land
set close to the town centre of Llangefni to accommodate a suitable smallscale housing development.
“The use of this windfall site would be in line with the Authority’s strategy and the growth thresholds for the settlement.”
